The IRS released the inflation adjustments for health savings accounts (HSAs) and their accompanying high deductible health plans (HDHPs) effective for calendar year 2017. Most limits remained the same as 2016 amounts. For calendar year 2017, the maximum contribution permitted to an HSA for an individual with self-only coverage under a high deductible health plan is $3,400 (up $50 from 2016). For calendar year 2017, the maximum contribution permitted to an HSA for an individual with family coverage under a high deductible health plan is $6,750 (no change from 2016).
